Like all wart treatment options, there may be some minor discomfort and this may vary from person to person. Swift is applied for up to 5 seconds at a time and any discomfort usually lasts for 2-3 seconds before subsiding. The heat generated from the probe is 42-45 degrees celsius, a few degrees warmer than a hot bath. The process is applied roughly 5 times for each wart. Generally, there is little to no post procedural pain.
Microwaves are a form of non-ionising radiation, meaning they cannot cause damage to DNA. The swift machine uses very low energy levels to vibrate water molecules within skin cells. This process does not damage the skin or leave scarring.
On average 3 sessions 4 weeks apart, followed by a 12 week review. However, more sessions are required depending on the response to the treatment.
